Since I got into LJ for the sole purpose of Johnny's, I'll just use it to let out how I got into Johnny's and my thoughts.  Got no one in real life to talk to about this around me lol.

It was my liking for anime, anime OSTs, and seiyuus that exposed me to the world of other Japanese media.  In 2017, I decided to give live-action adaptations of anime a try.  I found myself searching live-action adaptations to feed my curiosity and ease my withdrawals from finishing anime shows.  One of those shows was Assassination Classroom.

I always wondered how they could cast an androgynous character like Nagisa.  My first impression of the actor was that he's pretty and probably belongs in a boy band (correct!).  I was also surprised he was the lead in Fullmetal Alchemist. Upon watching the first Assassination Classroom movie and realized his band sang the ending, I was intrigued by Yamada Ryosuke.  After randomly finding subbed Itadaki High JUMP eps online, I was hooked.  That's how I became a fan of my first J-pop group: Hey! Say! JUMP.

Before I saw the second movie, I knew the seiyuu for Korosensei was different from the anime and was also cast as his human form.  I looked him up and was shocked he played the lead from a Hollywood movie I saw a long time ago: Letters from Iwo Jima.  My thoughts were that he looks the same and must be one heck of an actor (correct!).  After watching the second movie, I was fascinated by Ninomiya Kazunari and unknowingly stanned Arashi.

At the time, the most surprising thing in all of this to me is that both bands belong to the same agency.  To cast Johnny's talents in movies like these showed me the amazing power the agency has on Japanese entertainment overall.
